Vision Sports Ireland James Joyce Art and Essay Competition Launch

Art and Essay Launch Video

The cross border initiative, the first marketing theme of the 2019 Vision Cup is showing the potential to yield real results. The second marketing theme, Youth Inclusion is also progressing well.

The Mayor of Fingal, one of Dublin's three local authorities, their chief executive and local councillors gathered in the council office atrium on Monday March 11th, to launch the Vision Sports Ireland James Joyce Art and Essay Competition.

The sports and culture teams at Fingal are cock a hoop about this unique event, which challenges blind and vision impaired children, North and South of the border, to express themselves on the positive aspects of engaging in sport.

World renowned artist, Jim Fitzpatrick, who created the iconic Che Guevara print, one of our judges, spoke with admiration and great charm about a former football team mate. A man with one eye, who could rise in the air to head the ball, as if standing on a bubble, removing his protective goggles before heading the ball before replacing his goggles before floating back to the ground.

What a picture. The press release from this launch will tell the story of the Arts and Essay competition to 300,000 people in the community of Fingal.
