Successful Edition of the Spanish Blind Golf Open Held at Isla Canela Golf

The 2026 Spanish Blind Golf Open was successfully held this week at Isla Canela Golf, bringing together players and guides from several countries in another outstanding celebration of international blind golf.

Played over the Old Course at Isla Canela, the tournament showcased not only a high standard of competition but also the strong spirit of friendship, sportsmanship and inclusion that continues to define the blind golf community worldwide.

Players competed across multiple sight classifications, demonstrating exceptional skill, determination and teamwork alongside their guides. The event once again highlighted the continued growth of blind golf across Europe and the importance of international tournaments in promoting competitive opportunities for visually impaired athletes.

The championship was made possible thanks to the support of ISPS Handa volunteers, sponsors, officials and the host venue, whose commitment ensured a memorable experience for all participants both on and off the course.

In addition to the sporting competition, the week provided an opportunity for players, guides and supporters from different nations to strengthen relationships within the international blind golf community and continue promoting the values of accessibility, inclusion and equal opportunity through sport.

The International Blind Golf Association congratulates all players and organisers involved in delivering another successful edition of the Spanish Blind Golf Open and looks forward to the continued development of blind golf around the world.
