ISPS HANDA 2026 SPANISH OPEN BLIND GOLF CHAMPIONSHIP

Isla Canela Golf Course, Ayamonte, Huelva, Spain

May 4th to 8th, 2026

 

THE CHAMPIONSHIP

Introduction

Blind Golf Spain (BGS) will host the ISPS HANDA Spanish Open from May 4th to 8th, 2026. This 36-hole MEDAL tournament will take place at Isla Canela Golf Course, Ayamonte, Huelva, Spain.

There are direct flights from most major European cities, and those traveling from outside should consider connecting flights. We invite both international and local players to register for the limited spots available in this event.

The Course

Isla Canela Golf Course (Old Course) is an 18-hole championship course designed by Juan Catarineu. It is a flat and accessible par 72 layout, set in natural marshland surroundings, with wide fairways, strategically placed bunkers, and water hazards. Its design is both challenging and enjoyable for players of all levels.

Entry Fee

The entry fee will be €200 per player.

The registration deadline is January 30th, 2026.

Itinerary

• Monday, May 4: Arrival at Seville (SVQ) or Faro (FAO) airports

• Tuesday, May 5: Practice round And Welcome Dinner

• Wednesday, May 6: 1st Round of the Championship

• Thursday, May 7: 2nd Round of the Championship And Closing Dinner and prize giving

• Friday, May 8: Departure

Prizes

The following prizes will be awarded:

• Best and Runner-up Gross: B1, B2, and B3

• Overall Net classification (all players): 1st, 2nd, and 3rd

• Women's Gross and Net: Winner (only if 3 or more women participate)

• Overall Stableford classification: 1st, 2nd, and 3rd

In the event of a tie, the IBGA approved countback procedure will be applied.

Meals

The following meals will be provided:

• Breakfasts: from Tuesday, May 5 to Friday, May 8 (at the hotel)

• Lunches: picnic style from Tuesday, May 5 to Thursday, May 7 (at the golf club)

• Dinners: Welcome Dinner on Tuesday, May 5 and Closing Dinner on Thursday, May 7

Buggies will be available for all B1 players and those with medical needs.

Arrival and Accommodation

Players should fly to Seville or Faro airports.

Accommodation will be provided at the 4-star Isla Canela Golf Hotel:

Located next to the golf course, this Andalusian-style hotel offers comfortable rooms with terrace, swimming pool, spa, and restaurant. It is situated in a privileged natural environment with direct access to the course.
