IBGA ISPS Handa SA Open 2025

 

ISPS HANDA South African Open 2025

13 - 14 May 2025

Reading Country Club, Gauteng Province SA

SABGA will be hosting the ISPS Handa South African Open from 13 - 14 May 2025. This 36-hole event will take place at the Reading Country Club in Gauteng province, with a practice round on 12 May 2025.

We would like to invite international and local players to apply for entry to the limited number of places available in this event.

Closing date for entries: 1 April 2025.

Prizes Available

• Men's B1 Champion (gross) & Runner-up

• Men's B2 Champion (gross) & Runner-up

• Men's B3 Champion (gross) & Runner-up

• Ladies' Champion (gross) & Runner-up

• Overall Net (Medal basis) 1st, 2nd, & 3rd place

If there are not at least two entries in a particular category, categories will be combined (e.g. ladies and men combined by sight category).

Entry Fees

R3000 - covering golf, accommodation, lunches and a closing dinner.

Reduced rates will be available to players who do not stay at the arranged accommodation, but choose instead to travel in each day from home.

South African players who are in financial need may apply to the SABGA committee for financial assistance.

Once SABGA has confirmed your place, please pay the entry fees to the (usual) SABGA bank account.

The Golf Course

Reading Country Club boasts an 18-hole golf course in a typical woodlands layout.

The course is tree-lined with water featuring on 10 of the 18 holes. The fairways are predominantly of the kikuyu-variety grass whilst the greens are bent-grass greens.

The course measures 6,552 meters long and is a par-71 course with 11 par-4's, 4 par-3's and 3 par-5's.

Meals

Included in the entry fees will be breakfast each day, half-way house at the golf club each day of golfing and a closing dinner.

Golf Buggies & Club Caddies

Golf buggies and caddies will be available at the players' own expense.

Programme Schedule:-

• Sun 11 May: Arrive at Johannesburg International Airport (O.R. Tambo, for those flying in)

Transport from airport to accommodation

• Mon 12 May: Practice Day

• Tue 13 May: ISPS Handa SA Open Round 1

• Wed 14 May: ISPS Handa SA Open Round 2

• Thur 15 May: Depart

Transport to O.R. Tambo Airport if required

Transportation

Transportation will be provided:

• From O.R. Tambo airport to the guest house and back to the airport on the departure day.

Accommodation

The Greenfields guest house is located less than 1 km from the golf club and offers all that one would expect from a 4-star establishment.
